Curator’s notebook which was created during the work on the project cross-species musical cycle AnimotMUZIK.

The zoomusicological cycle AnimotMUZIK, a sound research and an interspecies experiment, encourages participating artists to create work using the sounds of non-human animals and challenge the established modes of musical expression. The cycle of three concert evenings will host musicians improvising to the same piece of music, which will be developed using animal-made sounds and/or their music by our resident sound artist. The musicians are encouraged to respond to the composition, explore the sounds of non-human animals, their state and mode of expression and, by doing so, create their own interpretation, their own response to the sounds and lives of animals.
