Saturday, 16 November, 2019 at 11:00
Workshop Sound Walk encourages children to listen to the sounds of environment while strolling along the streets, in the park or in nature. The intent of the workshop is to foster interest in listening to sounds that surround us and not only hearing them.
Workshop participants will learn about the meaning of sound walks and usefulness of echolocation, employed by certain animals and people. Children will first be equipped with binaural microphones and headsets and then they will go for a walk. They will divide into pairs or groups of three and perform several tasks with both workshop leaders, aimed at sensation of listening to surroundings. They will explore possibilities of different positions of microphones and the differences in the heard sound. Workshop leaders and participants will perform short improvised concerts together in different acoustic spaces.
